Throttle body repurposed as an exhaust cutout.
The flange was fabricated with the most basic of tools. A jigsaw with a metal blade, angle grinder with cut off wheel, bench grinder with wire and stone wheel. The large hole was made with a 2 1/8″ doorknob hole saw.

Stick welding exhaust is possible but less than ideal.
When I first imagined it in my head, I thought I would tuck it up more out of the way, but there really was no room to do so. Ultimately this met it’s end on a rock near Reno, NV.
Bracket for control cable. Small amount of weld added to create a “D” shaped hole to fit the shape of the cable housing.
This is a throttle cable for a riding lawnmower. The solid wire allows bidirectional actuation. This is useful since the throttle plate spring is not strong enough to pull the cable back to the closed position.
